Atjeh-'revisited'

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
In The Name of Allah The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful

What I am going to write today is a very boring story for it's an old one. A story about our journey to Atjeh quite a month ago. Indeed, time was racing with me.

It was like walking through the streets in Laskar Pelangi (an Indonesian movie) when we first drove through the streets of Atjeh.

The trees lining up the small roads witnesses the laughters and joy of little children playing together as the day sun sets by Allah's order.

The sun would rise again tomorrow by His Will, and shines their footsteps in seeking knowledge.

I wondered, where are the parents...

As we continue, there were little huts at some spots until there was a huge plane of green grasses (about 5 acres), later we knew that it was the cemetery of those who were sacrificed during the Tsunami.
Note: the "wave"
A wall built on the cemetery

Alhamdulillah, 7 years post-Tsunami, they healed well. Little was seen of the damages done, except for a few lots of houses that were not repaired, but no one's living in there either (most of them were given new houses and land).

There were of course a few that remains to remind the people like the PTLD Ship weighing 2600 tonnes thrown 5km into the land. which, unfortunately, my family and I, wasn't given the chance to visit as it was closed for renovation. Perhaps, it was a sign that we should go back one day ^_^

The humongous ship

Why am I suddenly writing about this, because a friend has asked me
' mcm mn eh Acheh skrg? '

So this is supposed to be the answer. the story of Hafalan Shalat Delisa (Full Movie) was just one of the stories. STORIES. there were 250,000 people reported to lost their lives during the event. so, just imagine the number of stories there are. Some are sad, real sad. some makes us motivated. and some makes us laugh.

There was a lady who never in her life climbed a tree, but as the wave came, she suddenly realizes that she is already on a tree so tall. what's funnier? there were other people on the tree too. haha. and of course, she couldn't get down, and other people had to help her.

But what do all these stories have in common? They teach us to appreciate our life and everything that is sent by Allah with it. Love it just enough to let it be our share in the Hereafter. But love Allah most, love those bring you to His love, and deeds that bring you to His Love. Love Him more than anything in this world.

What else made me proud of them? for at once, I saw a land with both Islam and Muslims. A land where shariah is implemented. Where the punishment for adultery is as stated by Islam.

we asked the tourguide about the punishment of those who steal. but he said it was not chopping off the hands. later, i realized and remembered that there was another tourguide who said, that the crime rate there was very low, and people could not steal  because of the citizens protect each other overthere. a thief know he cannot runaway far before someone catches him/her. Even the road traffic accident(RTA) rate is low, as low as once a month (if any).

(perhaps, that was the reason why there weren't parents watching over the children, and there were no hands chopped)

It must have been real hard to rise up from such a test
(can't imagine myself to...na'udzubillah min dzalik).
but then i realized, such great test were given, because such great people they are, the Atjeh-ans.

Shopping dealings was done between us, Muslims and Muslims. The big stores over there are own by local Atjeh-ans. the goods were cheap too.
My dad said, "at once, shopping was nice."
 *imagine us*

We met with an usrah friend of our father, who treated and welcomed us soo well with good foods. they even prepared rooms for us (which we had to decline because of our flight next day, and the things unpacked yet...) we were given a special and beautiful Qur'an. May Allah bless the family and protect them, in this world and the Hereafter.

It was amazing to see that old mosque just beside the beach, stood well during the Tsunami, when all the houses surrounding it was being washed away. It was told that there was a chinese man reverted to Islam following Tsunami a he saw a 'creation' raising the mosque. Subhanallah..

There were people inside the mosque, even the Imam himself. He kept reciting  again and again the Azan (call for prayer) with tears flowing down. How heart breaking it must have been.

It was unbelievable to the physics knowledge we have, as if there was a positive pressure from inside. but Allah's Knowledge encompasses everything. He is Allahuakbar.

So, pengajaran de, klu ad bencane ape2 skali pn, nk selamat, lari ke masjid. klu x selamat pn, terkorban pn, terkorban dlm masjid..huu..
